Search for the perfect… Cashmere jumper

The one thing I feel I never have quite enough of is cashmere jumpers. They may be a pain to wash (if like me you’re prone to accidentally shrinking things) but they feel gorgeous and luxurious and are so damn classically cool.

But just because it’s luxurious doesn’t mean it has to be ridiculously expensive. I’ve searched the high street and found the best options for £125 and under.

A simple, round neck plain cashmere jumper is a total capsule wardrobe staple. In an ideal world I’d have at least a couple – a grey one and a black or navy. I tend to buy oversize rather than super fitted because I prefer that “can’t really be bothered” boyish look.

Crew neck, Uniqlo, £69.90

Pink, & Other Stories, £85

Crew Neck, ASOS WHITE, £90

Crew Neck, John Lewis and Partners, £79

In my “dream life” I spend a lot of time sitting by a fire with a great book and a giant glass or red wine. Wrapped up in a big cashmere jumper (probably over a pair of luxe leggings).

Limited edition, Zara, £119

Ines Crew, Uniqlo, £69.90

Oversize, & Other Stories, £85

I always feel like cashmere – because it’s an “investment”- should be a “sensible” colour but why?! There are some great classic and cosy options out there in the most beautiful bright hues and prints…

Vibrant pink, Cos, £125

Cloud in violet, Jigsaw, £98

Turtle neck, ASOS, £95

Striped sweater Mango, £119

Animal print, Marks & Spencer, £99

My hunt for cashmere cardigans wasn’t as successful as the jumper search. Lots of boring granddad options and not much more. but I did manage to find this…

if you see any options on your shopping travels give me a shout!

Raglan sleeve in black/ivory John Lewis & Partners, £120
